Last week a Metter asked the question 'Who is a Groupie". The best response to such a question would not be from someone looking in, but from a self confessed Groupie. Here it goes :-
"...In today's society there are many different words for socially undesirable women. Bitch, hoe, whore, slut, tramp, skank, hoochie, cunt, pig, chicken-head, bust-down, trick, skeezer, cow, groupie, etc. And yet we have managed to maybe come up with about three for the male equivalent: Asshole, motherfucker, and man-whore. I could get into how unfair it and blah, blah, blah. But really many of us don't even really know the words which we speak. For example, what is a groupie? According to wikipedia a groupie is a person (generally female) who seeks sexual and/or emotional intimacy with a celebrity or other authority figure. Yep I guess that pretty much sums it up. Why you may ask? Some reasons will remain unknown. But for me, it's living out a fantasy. The ability to connect the two worlds of my fantasy and his reality can be electrifying. While many may curse this lifestyle, the reality is this: majority would jump at the opportunity to be with their favorite celebrity (IF THEY WOULDN'T GET JUDGED). The sad part about it is, we women usually get condemned by our own kind, when both parties should be held responsible. It may just be a little envy that they aren't able to live their life a bit more carefree, not worrying so much about what others think. But enough of about that. I just want to let everyone know there is NO judgment from me. You're free to write WHATEVER you want, and even if you may not agree with some of the things that you read; you are more than welcome to live vicariously through our stories.... "
